Giuseppe Verdi
1813–1901
Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901) was an Italian opera composer who also produced one of the most dramatic settings of the Requiem Mass. Written in memory of Alessandro Manzoni, Verdi's Requiem is operatic in scale and intensity, often called "the world's greatest opera in disguise."
