Using Chord Perfect in Your Rehearsal Planning
A practical guide to incorporating Chord Perfect into your preparation workflow — from selecting works to distributing audio to your choir.
Rehearsal Planning
Start with free streaming
Every voice part page streams a free rehearsal track — a full mix of the work with that part brought forward so your singers can hear their line against the others. Share the direct link (e.g. chordperfect.com/works/handel-messiah/tenor) with your section and they can begin listening immediately. No sign-in or payment required.
Try the full Pro Player free
Every work has one movement unlocked in the Pro Player for everyone — no purchase, no sign-up. In Messiah it is the Hallelujah chorus; in the Vivaldi Gloria it is the opening Gloria in excelsis Deo. Point your choir at that movement first so they can try the mixing desk, tempo control and A–B loop before deciding to upgrade.
Sharing parts with your choir
The free rehearsal track needs no purchase or sign-up. Share the direct link to each part with the relevant section.
Send it via email, choir management software, WhatsApp group, or print it in your rehearsal notes. Singers open the link and start practising immediately. For the Pro Player — separate stem sliders for your part, the other voices and the orchestra, solo and mute, tempo control, A–B looping, Continuous Rehearsal Mode and Rapid Learn — they can upgrade on the same page.
Pointing singers to difficult passages
The Pro Player is where the detailed work happens. An A–B loop repeats a phrase hands-free until it sticks, the tempo control drops as low as 50% without changing the pitch, and the ← key skips back 10 seconds to re-take a bar. Solo the part to learn the notes, then mute it and sing against the others to test whether they have stuck.
Name the movement and the bars in your rehearsal notes, and encourage singers to work them proactively rather than waiting for the next rehearsal. On the free track they can still seek to a passage using the progress bar and replay it.
Working with Sections
One link per voice part
Each voice part has its own page — Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. Share each free link with the relevant section.
Guest soloists
For works with prominent soloists, the relevant voice part includes their lines. The Tenor part in Messiah covers the Evangelist/tenor arias as well as the tenor chorus parts.
Double choir works
The Bach St Matthew Passion is split across both choirs: Soprano 1/2, Alto 1/2, Tenor 1/2 and Bass 1/2 each have their own page. Share each accordingly.
Divided parts
Where a work divides only in places — the Fauré Requiem, the Rossini Petite Messe, the Bach Magnificat — the player follows the score: unison movements play the shared line, divisi movements the split one.
Links can’t be shared
Player links are personal and can’t be passed on. Each singer opens their own part on Chord Perfect.
Follow the score
Selected movements include a scrolling score video synced to the audio, so singers can see where they are as they sing. Coverage is growing across the catalogue.
